5 Tips to Find the Best Bridal Photographer

Choosing your best bridal photographer is a big decision. It's important to make sure you find the best person for the job because this is one of the most memorable days in your life. There are many things that can go wrong on such an important day, and a bad photographer can lead to disastrous results. In this blog post, we will discuss 5 tips to help you find the best bridal photographer in town!

1. Ask the Photographer Questions

The first step in finding a good wedding photographer is asking them questions. It's important to ask about everything from their experience with weddings and other events, to what types of photos they specialize in or if you can see some examples of work they've done before. You want to make sure you ask the hard questions, like:

- What if I don't like the photos?

- How do you help clients who aren't good at getting their photos taken?

- How soon is the photo turnaround time?

- Do you do re-edits?

The best time to ask is when you first meet the photographer, or when they offer a consultation. It's best if this is done in person but often times there are phone consultations available too. If they don't offer you a consultation, that's not necessarily a bad thing but having one is always a plus. No matter what happens, just make sure you ask them questions.

2. Get Lots of Options

You want to make sure you're comparing apples to apples. Every photographer has different styles of photography, and that's a good thing! However, it can be difficult because they will still need to do some kind of style comparison for you so you can tell which one you prefer. Instagram and Pinterest are great for this. On Instagram, you can find various photographers to model your style after, and on Pinterest, you can create a mood board for the feel you want your photos to have.

Finding a photographer with your best friend is great but if she doesn't specialize in weddings then there could be a disconnect. I know weddings can be expensive, but when it comes to photos, choosing the cheapest option (Aunt Betty who happens to have a camera) isn't always the best.

3. Review their Previous Work.

All photographers will have portfolios for you to look through. Some might post their best shots on social media, but others only send out sneak peeks when they're asked. You can also ask the photographer what kind of equipment they use (or if that's a concern) and how many years of experience they've had.

The major concern here is getting a gauge for how capable the photographer is at creating the photos you want.

4. Review their Personality

When you're on your best behavior, it's much easier for a photographer to take amazing photos of you and the people around you. If the photographer is someone with whom you are comfortable chatting then that will go a long way in providing great memories from this time of life.

You'll probably be communicating with this photographer quite a few times before you get your beautiful photos. You'll want to make sure they are easy to work with and if possible, even delightful to work with.

5. Don't Settle for the Cheapest

A lot of people will be tempted to go with a photographer who offers the best deal because they are looking for the best quality. Be sure that you don't sacrifice quality over price, but also make sure you're not paying too much more than necessary to get what you want.

You know you've made the right choice when the price doesn't make your jaw drop and hit the ground, but the quality isn't embarrassing.
